Senior Resident Clinic

In the manual since June 29, 2020

To prepare senior (PGY-4) residents for independent practice, additional continuity clinic experience is provided in the form of a senior resident clinic.  This clinic occurs every Tuesday morning.

As with the other continuity clinics, it is the resident’s responsibility to prepare for his/her patients and provide all follow up care, especially with regards to laboratory studies and skin biopsies. This senior resident clinic is meant to serve as a clinical capstone to gain competency in managing such topics as diagnosis and treatment of complicated patients, patients refractory to treatment, treatment management, scheduling, nursing, patient flow, patient no-shows, procedure precertification and medication prior authorization, the iPledge system, patient follow-up, and the coordination of patient care with other providers and hospital systems. It is the residents’ responsibility to work with the supervising faculty members to ensure timely closure of all senior resident clinic encounters.
