Graduate Achievement Day
On a Thursday in June (usually the 3rd Thursday), the department holds its annual Research Symposium and Graduate Achievement Day. It is a time to celebrate the year’s accomplishments of each resident and highlight the graduating senior residents’ three years in the Department. A Visiting Professor participates in the day’s activities. The second and third year residents in conjunction with their associated first year resident, will present an academic project that he/she has been working on during the year with faculty members who serve as the principal investigator (PI). The presentations should be no longer than 7-10 minutes in length.
Residents are encouraged to prepare their topic with the guidance of their faculty mentors or other faculty members and actively discuss the project with them during its development, initiation and completion.
