Melanoma Conference

In the manual since June 29, 2020

Multidisciplinary Melanoma and Other Skin Tumors Group Conference

This conference is held on the fourth Thursday morning of the month at 7AM via Zoom.  The Mohs surgery fellow and the Mohs resident will be jointly responsible for the conference, including presenting cases, discussing follow up of previous cases, obtaining all relevant pathology/slides prior to the conference for review/presentation, setting up the computer as well as putting these away after the conference.  A “Melanoma Conference” folder is in the Mohs resident’s mailbox for patient’s information for those cases to be presented.  A pre-conference information sheet is also provided to assist in organizing the conference.  The Mohs fellow is to have the patient list to the program coordinator one week in advance for distribution to conference attendees.  The Mohs fellow is also to have all forms needed for the conference (attendance sheet, tumor conference record sheet, and relevant articles).  The resident should request slides from the dermatopathology staff including as much information as possible (i.e., name, case number, name of outside lab if not an inside case).  This request should be made by the Monday before Melanoma Conference so that all pathology material is collected and made available to the dermatopathologist, dermatopathology fellow or surgical pathologist in advance with a courtesy phone call regarding the patient list at least 10 days in advance.  The pathology slides are to be returned after the conference.  The dermatopathology lab staff is available to assist with pathology issues.

A patient list must be completed by the monthly Mohs resident(s) and sent to Program Manager for distribution no later than 3 business days before the conference. An example is below:
