Professional Days

Second and third year residents may be excused for up to a total cumulative six days of clinical duties (Monday-Friday) for professional days. These days may be used for fellowship interviews, job interviews, or board review courses. Any requests for professional days should be made using the Time Away Request Form at least 8 weeks in advance and need to be approved by the chief resident, residency program coordinator and residency program director.

In addition, two educational ½ days for 2nd and 3rd year residents to take CORE exams during regular business hours are provided. These requests need to be submitted 8 weeks in advance using the Time Away Request Form and must not be scheduled on a day where resident clinic closures are required (Tuesday AM and/or Thursday PM). If scheduling difficulties arise, contact the Chief Residents, PD and PC for approval.
