GME Wellness Program
The GME Wellness Program is a part of a larger effort by SSM Health/Saint Louis University School of Medicine to create a more positive culture and learning environment. The Program is led by a steering committee in addition to a core group of faculty and residents designated as “Wellness Champions”. These individuals will help our institution to support a multi-component approach to wellness for the benefit of all graduate medical trainees and programs. Dr. Fehlman is the current faculty wellness champion for Dermatology.
Expectations of the Wellness Champion include a one year commitment to the program, attendance at the kick-off retreat and quarterly evening program meetings, ability to be a liaison to programs and residents on wellness initiatives, ability to communicate and disseminate resources to programs, to promote professionalism and Just Culture at our institution, champion efforts to improve wellness across the School of Medicine, engage with GME and hospital leadership in assessing the outcome of wellness initiatives.
